The Market town of St Ives is a hidden gem, set in the North Cambridgeshire Countryside. In the afternoon we will head to Ely, which makes a wonderful afternoon trip, offering a charming mix of history, culture and a relaxing riverside atmosphere.

It is know for its traditional town centre, scenic riverside walks and famous St Ives Bridge, wihich is a spot of great historical interest for being one of the few bridges in England with a chapel built on it.
Visitors can explore the weekly market, one of the largest in the region and also enjoy small indpendent stores. Walking paths along the river are popular for picnics and wildlife spotting. The town has a relaxed atmosphere and is a good place to learn about the local history.
15 miles from St Ives is Ely, one of the UK's smallest cities due to it's magnificent cathedral. Its most famous feature being Ely Cathedral, highlights the city, it's a stunning large medieval building known as the "Ship of the Fens" becasuse it stands out across the flat surrounding landscape.
On a visit to Ely, you can tour the cathedral, walk by the great River Great Ouse and visit local museums. Or even experience the charming city centre and stop by the cafe's and shops for a more chilled day of exploration.
